Bluegrass Detachment 1012 is very active in community projects and fund raising.  At present the Detachment supports its own scholarship program for the Children and grand children of its members plus JROTC members in our community.  We also support a Young Marines Program.  We also provide support for the Madison County Veterans Honor Guard for Military Honors at burials. We do many Rose bud events for fund raising and a golf tournament every year.  We end up the year with our Marine Corps birthday Ball which has grown steadily over the years to a major event in the community.  We provide many Color Guard requests for special events.  Within Madison County the MCL is considered the “Go to guys” if you need a color guard.  We not only work hard but we have a lot of fun whether we are working or having a “liberty call” at a local watering hole.  We are Marines and we are brothers.  We know how to work and we know how to have fun.  Semper Fi.
